Our Vision for MFL
At St Mary and St Peter's we believe that language plays a fundamental role not only in our children’s linguistic education, but also in the development of social interaction and cognitive development. Primary language supports essential literacy skills and fosters the consolidation of concepts, skills and vocabulary learned in the first language.

Teaching French at St Mary and St Peter's
In Key Stage 2, French is taught weekly using the Rigolo scheme.
We focus on five main key areas:
- speaking
- reading
- listening
- writing
- intercultural understanding
