As part of our DT topic we worked in groups today to prepare delicious vegetable soups! Some of us made leek and potato while others made carrot and parsnip.

This week we have been learning all about persuasion in English. We enjoyed a speaking and listening task with Maltesers to practise our skills!

We have begun our Art topic investigating different printing techniques inspired by African patterns.
15th December
In DT we have been designing and creating our own money containers using textiles.
5th December
We have been investigating sound proofing in Science by testing how well different materials muffle sound.
25th November
At home we made musical instruments. We brought them in and then investigated how we can change pitch as part of our Science lesson.

We took part in a Judaism workshop in which we learnt lots about the Torah.

We enjoyed performing a range of poems in groups this week. We worked hard on expression, tone and volume in our performances.

In Science we froze different liquids such as milk, oil, lemonade and water and closely observed the results.

We have been developing our gymnastics skills in our PE lessons.

We have begun the year in Maths developing our knowledge of place value. We have used place value counters and base 10 to consolidate our understanding.

We have been making lighthouses as part of our DT topic using modroc. Now they have been painted we are looking forward to adding on the electrical circuits.

We enjoyed an outing to the Time and Tide Museum and Lydia Eva steam drifter and learnt lots about the history of the fishing industry in Great Yarmouth.

w/c 14th March 2022 - Science Lesson
We enjoyed participating in our whole school investigation, Flappy Fish on Friday. We tried changing the size and material of the fish to see what effect it had on the how far and fast our fish could travel.
11th March 2022 - Drama lessons
Year 4 have been using drama to retell scenes from the book we have been reading, The Firework Maker's Daughter.

In Year 4 we enjoyed taste testing different vegetable soups and evaluating them as part of our DT topic. We look forward to designing our own recipes and cooking these next.

This week Year 4 have been investigating how circuits work in our Science lesson. We tested out using bulbs, motors, buzzers and switches.
